Family Ministries Coordinator at St Paul's, Wendy is also a Sister in the Church Army Australia, once described as an Anglican Order of Evangelists, now as '. . . a growing movement of pioneering evangelists who declare the good news of Jesus Christ in word and action . . .'.

Growing up as the third of four children to a Sydney family, Wendy Ferguson left school with the desire to tell people about Jesus. This I have done in many ways. During my training with Church Army, I was involved in many evangelistic missions in New South Wales and Victoria.

Until my marriage to John in December 1981, I was the Recreation Officer at Calrossy Anglican School, Tamworth in rural NSW (Brisbane Street Campus for Girls), as well as being a youth minister at St Paul's Anglican Church West Tamworth, in the Diocese of Armidale.

During 1982 I was involved in short-term ministry and missions in Sydney, Tasmania, Geelong and Newcastle. A meeting with one of the Melbourne bishops, David Penman, led to my assisting with ministry at All Saints' Church in Northcote, in inner Melbourne, and taking some studies at Ridley College where John was a student from 19831985. Along with Richard and Sue Temby and others, I was part of David Penman's mission team and the music group network, who led worship at missions and notably sang at David's enthronement as tenth Bishop and seventh Archbishop of Melbourne.

I, along with husband John, have been active in parish ministry in Northcote (Victoria), Collarenebri (north-western New South Wales), Belrose, Balgowlah and Macquarie (New South Wales), Cottenham (Cambridgeshire, Diocese of Ely, United Kingdom), and most recently, since returning to Melbourne in 2004, as members of St Paul's Anglican Church in Ringwood. At St Paul's Ringwood, I have been a member of the vestry and vicar's warden in the parish. I was appointed to my current position of Family Ministries Coordinator in 2009.

When not involved in Christian ministry, I have worked in school administration, juvenile protection, aged care and the great and wonderful art of motherhood. My four daughters, having been born in Melbourne, Tamworth and Manly, are spread from Melbourne through to Sydney and Newcastle.

I also have the passion to help people realise their gifts and talents and to enable them to be active in ministry so that Christ might be seen in their life and actions and that others might be drawn to Him.
